photo-painting "A LITTLE WORN OUT-HANKY" by Christine Ross
A LITTLE WORN-OUT HANKY
A little worn-out hanky
From a long, long time ago,
Stained with lots of memories
That someone used to know.
Did that little hanky
Dry away a million tears
Of sorrow or of happiness
In some long forgotten years?
Was it placed within a Bible
At a wedding from the past,
Or was it held in trembling hands
When a loved one didn't last?
The hanky's yesterdays aren't known,
Nor the compassion that it brought.
But it can hold a special place
In your heart and in your thoughts.
Whatever life may bring you
May you find some peacefulness,
From a little worn-out hanky
And the comfort that it gives.
