WELCOME

My name is Christine Ross and I am registered nurse and educator by degree, and an artist, poet, and writer by nature. Since the loss of my only son, Luke, I have been dedicated to expressing and recording my hopes, desires, and memories. It is my hope and my desire to bring light into places of darkness and to illuminate the memories of my life and the lives of others.
I live in Northern Arizona with my husband Robin. We have two children, Emily and Luke.
Luke died at home in 2001 at the age of 21
from acute bronchopneumonia.

In this ever changing world I am many things. Some of these things I found, and some of these things found me. I am a daughter, a sister, wife, a mother, a grieving mother, an aunt, a friend, a nurse, an educator, a believer, a dreamer, a survivor, a fighter, an artist, a poet, and a writer. All of these things somehow came together to make the essence of who I am... I call this essence my
"BRINGER OF LIGHT".

A few years after Luke died I began creating ANGEL FRIENDS PAGES and inviting parents that had suffered the same tragedy as I, to have their children represented on these pages. The pages began with just a few names, but now (sadly) include hundreds and hundreds of names of children that have died. These pages are shared monthly. Through all these years I have had many requests for my poetry in some sort of printed form. To date I have had many poems and stories published in LIVING WITH LOSS magazine, and in GRIEF DIGEST magazine. It has been very exciting to see these poems and stories in magazines because of the honor that it has brought to LUKE, my BRINGER OF LIGHT.
The name LUCAS means

I have recently made some of my poetry available in greeting cards, bookmarks, and pocket cards. I personally handmade all of these items. The poetry is original. The photo-paintings were created from photographs that I have taken. Also I personally painted canvas paintings using acrylic paint, then I scanned the finished painting, and had it made into prints. The prints were overlaid with a suitable original poem, then placed on the front of each card. Each card also has an item attached to the outside of the card... for example: miniature lasso, miniature wooden cross, cloth lace, miniature sign, and etc. These cards that are made from paintings and photo-paintings are priced at the base price.

Also available are cards that are handmade by using original antique and vintage photographs that I have personally collected at estate sales and antique shops from many different places across the country. With the old photograph cards you have the option of choosing the original antique/vintage photograph and then choosing the poem "Faded Photographs" or you may choose to have the card left blank. I will then put it all together, creating a handmade custom greeting card.
These cards that are made from old photographs are priced at $1.00 above the base price, due to the value of the original antique/vintage photograph. Personalization of these cards is available at no extra charge. Just inquire through an email or in the note to seller when purchased.

Also available are hanky cards. These hanky cards are handmade with original antique/vintage prints and then an original vintage hanky is attached inside the card with beautiful ribbon. Also inside the card is the poem... JUST A LITTLE HANKY. These cards are priced $2.00 above base price due to the value of the original antique/vintage print and the value of the original vintage hanky.

All of the available items may be used for any occasion, for loss, or for child loss. I personally sign the back of each card and include the approximate date or age of the print or photo, if applicable. I will be adding more poems, photos, prints, and cards, so please check often for updates.
